We've had no problems. Must only happen to the freeloading old boys. wink
So why does this make it more complicated? It just means you have to be a little patient. Division of wealth and property and any custody issues will take just as long as co-habiting couples. I'd guess divorce proceedings would make probably make these proceedings easier.

No divorce

How does that make it less complicated? There's still the division of wealth to be sorted, there's still custody issues if children are involved, etc.
If one cohabits, there is no need for a divorce, which is complicated, expensive and time consuming
So what is involved is a divorce that isn't involved in a split between co-habiting couples?

But the complications could make the decision more difficult
In a relationship one has less complications

No you don't. It's probably more complicated if you just co-habited as you have no divorce court to divvy up shared possessions.
Co-habiter have as much legal right in court as a married couple
So how is it less complicated then?

source was Farmers Weekly website today on latest auction prices page
did say average, but look and you'll see all steers, heifers, bullocks, etc. that make that the average price they quoting today

So are you saying that we should get the price of a 4 month old beef calf to replace a cow worth £2500 capable of producing 12000 litres of milk a year?
Err......Average price for a milking cow of £167! Show me where. A first calf, pedigree milking heifer will set you back well over £2000. Even a cull cow going for burger meat can make as much as £1000 at the moment.
Is this the same Tweeky who implies he suffered so much at the hands of Thatcher's government?
Why are you all just sending texts? You have their number, why not speak to them?

When I was a young boy I can remember, (the memory has not gone completely yet... lol ) my Grandfather talking of some of the cattle having "Staggers" (nothing to do with any contributors here) I remember they looked drunk. Was that BSE back in them days or caused by some thing else?

Staggers is a magnesium deficiency. Affects cattle as well as sheep. The risk is increased when grazing early growth in the year, especially if it's wet.
Scrapie is the ovine form of TSE (transmissible spongiform encethalopothy).
Quote by Bluefish2009
Lets us hope perhaps we can do the same with Ovine rinderpest

Do you believe ovine rinderpest to be high on the list of sheep ailments we should try and eradicate, given it's low contagiousness and minmal (even non-existant ) risk to human health?
FWIW the smart money is on BSE/Variant CJD to be the next disease to be eradicated globally.
Quote by foxylady2209
Phew! That's a relief, no more Rinderpest!

i can sleep easy tonight!!
In countries where a person's wealth is wholly in cattle a spread of Rinderpest through their herd is equivalent to all the companies you have shares in going bust one after the other and the value of your house crashing and you losing your job. No income, no pension, no future.
A lot of people will sleep easier if this happens.
There hasn't been a single reported case of Rinderpest in the last 10 years worldwide. Probably because it has been cheap and easy to vaccinate against. It has already been declared eradicated, only the second diease to achieve this status. I suspect the people of sub-saharan Africa and Afghanistan (where the most recent cases were) have plenty to keep them awake at night.

buying british is a more sure way of knowing where the meat is souced surely?

No. Current legislation means that the country of origin on a label will most likely be where the meat last underwent a major process. So you can legitmately label a joint of meat as British if the imported whole carcass was cut here. Likewise an animal can be imported live to the UK and as long as it's been in the UK for , I believe, around 80 days can be labelled as British.

would it be legal under the animal rights act, to slaughter an animal in this way in a british abattoir? i might be wrong but i would have thought no, please correct me if i am wrong on this one neil.

You're wrong.
Has dogging in the traditional sense finally died. Whilst we acknowledge we missed what seems to be the halcyon days of dogging, we have enjoyed some great time over the last 3 years. Dogging for us is all about turning up at a spot, not knowing who would be there and having some spontaneous fun. Guys used to have manners and respect. If they weren't of interest to us they'd wish us luck and let others have some fun. Just recently we've had guys who we weren't interested in chase other guys away. Almost a case of 'if I'm not getting any action, nor will anyone else'. We've had guys who we have clearly indicated we have no interest in pester us, follow us and be a general pain in the arse and the other night we encountered the guy who drove round the car park half a dozen times, each time shining main beam headlights on us, before anouncing to the other guys ' we'll have more chance of being struck by lightning tonight' .
Now we know we could arrange outdoor meets, but that just doesn't seem as fun to us as we like the spontenaity and randomness. If we're going tio the effort of planning things then it'll involve a roof and a bed.

When I pointed it out to the other half, she said, "there's no way we're going there, I might meet someone I know!"

Surely they would be there for the same reason as yourselves, so can't really see that as an issue. Just out of curiosty where is this new club?

Guess what tweeks, little Fido there can still carry Neospora Canina. Doesn't bother the dog much, but allow Fido off the lead to crap in a field and a cow picks up the bug she will abort her calf and become infertile, going from a milking cow worth £1500+, producing 10,000 litres of milk a year to being nothing more than burger meat worth £300. We had 12 animals infected the year before last. We have always been happy to let people walk where they wish on the farm as long as they shut gates etc, but we put up signs asking people to keep their dogs on leads and to clean up their shit. Within a day these signs had been torn down.

But this was not the issue or statement I was addressing. Cats carry Toxoplasmosis which can be passed to humans and cause damage to or even the miscarrige of unborn babys. Thats just life shit sadly. You can ask for no dogs on farm land but some cows have to use public roads as we all see when we are in the country. Sadly we cant control everything in life.
But you can keep your dog on a lead....it's not difficult.

Sadly we're going to have to pull out of this one Lost. Jewl's back just isn't up to the journey and work means we couldn't stop over.
Isn't getting pleasure from watching your wife with another man Wilholdry? Cuckoldry takes things a stage further.

I don't see how 12 months would be long enough... Seeing that in a natural state the mother would breastfeed exclusively, you're looking to 18+ months until she is fertile again.

Mammals are at their most fertile at the first oestrus after giving birth, borne out by the fact that the 'Jeremy Kyle' types seem to have a production line of toddlers going.
We feel that around an hours journey time is reasonable enough. In our case that means large towns and cities come within our scope ( Bristol, Swindon, Poole/Bournemouth, Southampton, Basingstoke ). Any further than that and you get into the realms of overnight stays.

This is why I very much enjoy meat which has been obtain through shooting, hunting, or part of a cull. We know it has had a wonderful happy life, eating naturally right up to the end of its life, which it does not know is coming. No stress of transport to the place of death and then more stress when it arrives.

blimey bluefish, if the animal could speak i am sure it would shake your hand and give you a big hug and say thank you for ending my life so quickly to end up on your dinner table.
i know you are not being serius so thought i would add a little light humour to the thred.
what you are being seriuos? :notes:
Oh yes Starlght, deadly serious, Lets weigh up the two different lives. Let us start with the mother of the beef cattle, she is a 4 year old dairy cow, if given a natural life she could live up to 24, possibly more, but sadly she will be lucky to see her 5 birthday before she is physically exhausted, lame, infertile worn out and sent to the slaughter house.
She was artificially inseminated with Belgian Blue semen; the Belgian Blue carries a recessive gene for "double muscling", so-called because of the enormous muscles, particularly on the hindquarters. Belgian Blue stud bulls have to be born via Caesarean section because their sheer size makes natural delivery impossible.
The calves' fate is one of the industry's dirty secrets. Each year, nearly half a million unwanted calves are born in the UK. Many females replace their worn-out mothers in the dairy herd. But the males are often regarded as waste by-products. Some are transported long distances to continental veal farms; others are killed within a week or two for baby food, or for cheese and pie ingredients. Some are simply shot in the head shortly after birth.
The lucky one’s join the beef heard. At 4 to 6 weeks old it will need to have its horns debudded , a hot iron is applied to the horn-forming tissue to stop its growth. If left any latter than this it will need to be de-horned, Horns contain both blood circulation and nerve endings, and so local anaesthesia and cauterisation are necessary to stem bleeding. If horns have already developed, they are removed with saws, horn shears or cutting wire
He may need to be castrated, despite being slaughtered before he reaches sexual maturity. Methods commonly used include surgical castration, tight rubber rings that restrict blood flow, and appliances that crush the spermatic cord of each testis - the so-called "bloodless castrator".
Once he has reached the correct size he will need to go to the slaughter house, Current EU rules allow cattle to travel for 14 hours without a rest or water. They must have a rest period of at least one hour after a 14 hour journey, after which, they may be transported for a further 14 hours. If the destination can be reached within another 2 hours then they may go a full 16 hours. After the second 14 hour journey, if the destination has not been reached the cattle must be unloaded, given food and water and rested for 24 hours. The journey times can then be repeated and this pattern can be repeated infinitely.
Once the lucky animal has reached its destination it will be unloaded into an holding area, then into a queue to reach its final destination, he may be reluctant so could be pushed, jabbed or even small electric shocks from a cattle prod to keep it moving along to its final destination. Once in the confines of the last stop he gets a blt of electric before the bolt gun is placed and animal dispatched, this is not always quick and clean as described earlier in the thread.
And don't get me started on "Antiobotic Resistant Bacteria"
If I was to be eaten, I know which way I would prefer, and yes, I would shake his hand. The deer below has none of these worries.

Blue you don't half copy and paste some bollocks.
It's no secret that Jewl has a preference for younger guys and I do have a thing for the older lady. Now we don't get too picky when looking at couples for potential meets and Jewl will play with older and I'm happy to go younger, but in a moment of boredom I thought I'd do a search on here with the following criteria: Male 20-30, Female 50-65, no preference on orientation or distance and turned up 19 results, none of whom have been online in the last 3 months. Reverse the age criteria and you get 10x as many results with many online recently.
Ah well, we can but hope that one day......
