Wasn't driving recklessly at all! i was taking my gran out for a birthday treat! i was doing 40/42ish in a 30, that would definantly be more suitable as a 40, but hey i know i dont make the rules.
Came down the hill, then didnt notice the fecking thing on the otherside of the road with its doors open at me till i was 20 meters from the fecking thing!

Okay not swinging related in the slightest, but could somebody tell me how they work?
If one is parked on the right hand side of the road, with the camera pointing out the back, would it get the cars on its side driving away from it, or on the otherside of the road approching it?

Me and my girlfriend havent been dogging yet (not intentionally anyway!) as pointed out in those previous posts.

did you not try using your parking lights? or using your full beam? (not ideal, but better than driving in the dark at 70mph!) as i know on my car, there is a different bulb for each of these options.
Regardless, glad to see you made it back in one piece! otherwise we'd have to set up a dogging recruitment session to replace you!

Im not wanting to flame anyone Jomu, and your response was a constructive one, i see your point, and i can appreciate everyones views of driving in and seeing 15 blokes waiting, i know i wouldnt like it either - And peoples opinions are of sharing sites out would just promote this then i agree its obviously better to keep them hush hush!

I understand what you mean about getting PMs off people who might be claiming to be something their not, i personally would only give out details to some of the people who i have seen posting on here alot, and seems to be chatting with many of the other regulars, on a slightly more personal level, as this seems to imply they are more trust-worthy, but i appreciate, even this isnt foolproof and may seem selectist.
As to Jomu, perhaps i didnt make myself very clear, by idiots i was referring more to the odd scare story ive heard on here about muggings and such, and perhaps you believe they have much right as anybody else, but i dont. - Also boyracers, not including them in the idiots group, and yes they have their rights, but when out dogging im sure many people would considering them an annoyance!
as to the "few places near where i live" what i mean is they seem ideal, surrounded by trees, not too far from a many road, but not being over looked by houses or anything - of course theres a chance they are already being used, but whenever ive drove past or been in there on the odd occassion with the girlfriend, ive seen nothing.

Yeah i see your point, but im sure theres a few couples on here that are well known to be trust worthy, who have been on the scene for a while - once a place has been decided to be 'ideal' then they could pass on the place to a few of their "friends" who in turn will pass on the place to their "friends" - So soon im sure there will be lots of new faces that most people down there wont initially know, and after a few set up meetings, im sure things wont need to be so structured or like a members club, as people will be coming and going like they do in a place thats been going for a long time.
Only with the advantage of the word only having been passed from one dogger, to someone that they have met a few times, and then them only passing the place on to someone they have met a few times, so theres less chance of boy racers turning up?
And yeah i know all these places have been set up through word of mouth in the past, but initially someone has had to go there, and sit waiting for weeks on the chance that somebody else will join them -
Whereas i know that just within 10 minutes drive of where i live there are several places ideal for dogging, if i told a couple of couples one or two of these places, and we all agreed to go down for a couple of nights, see how it worked out, then spread the word to a couple of singles, then they spread it to a couple of people that they have seen in various places before and known to be trust worthy, and then they spread it to a couple of their friends, and then these took down their partners or whichever, then there would be no need to arrange a specified day as quite a few people will know about it, and be going down on all different days?
Anyway sorry, just an idea to promote more places for action to take place, and try and halt the need for people constantly asking for places to go because everywhere they know has been took over by idiots!

However with police cracking down, and newspapers revealing them to sell papers the number of good "safe" places free of boyracers and such is dropped.
So why dont we use this forum, full of like minded people to create some new places.
Im sure most people here know of a few places local to them that would be ideal for dogging - only you dont know if other doggers know about them, and you dont know any to spread the word to.
So why not spread it via here?

I know lots of places in Ilkeston that would be ideal for dogging, some out of the way, one right next to a main carridge way yet tucked away and secluded.
How difficult would it be for a few local singles and a couple of couples to arrange to try one or two out one week, then if all goes well spread the word to a few more trusted doggers, then they do the same, and soon itll be a good regular spot?
