Right I’m off, this is not a flounce this is an “I’m bloody fed up with the attitude of some people on this I have made some great friends on the board but when threads start to get locked as often as they have in the past week then I get pissed off. The we’ll meet again thread in the dogging section is the latest one to be locked and for me is the last straw.

Hi all just wanted to say sorry to satin and blue for pulling out of the party at the last minute, a load of family stuff happened and I got caught up in it and ended up in London. I’m glad to see everyone had a great time and the pics are cool.

That's not correct, unfortunately, parents are legally obligated to comply with disciplinary detention for their children, including at weekends, in the absence of reasonable excuse. Nor is the assertion made above that schools have no mandate of discipline to 5 year olds accurate.

With disciplinary detentions yes but these extra classes are not disciplinary detentions they are purely a way for the school to promote a certain level of behaviour during play which the parent has every right to refuse to allow their child to attend unless they are being given under the heading of Special needs in which case a parent has the right to see the special needs assessment of their child and the right to obtain an independent assessment and take it before the L.E.A

Ask to be given a copy of the schools behaviour and discipline policy with regards to pupils and see what is mentioned in there. If nothing is mentioned in the policy regarding this type of behaviour ask them to review the policy and add something to cover this type of incident and make sure it's distributed to all parents, it is one of your rights as a parent to do this. It will cause hell for the teachers and head teacher and will soon make them rethink their stand on the issue, it will take at least 3 months of hard work for them to comply with your request, if they want to be shity then you can be shity back!
