Never judge another man until you have walked a mile in his shoes....

......in which case what it the point on voting in any sort of popularity contest? surely you are judging everyone at most times.... I am sure people are judging me on what I write.... (thats why I like to take my time now and be more measured....don't think its working though)
I am sure that she has had control all the way thru her career, isn't that what she prides herself on? thru the books, and the perfumes, and the television programme....
I believe the advisers to her ex husband have got it right on this one, and she has got it wrong.... hence the backlash, and why he has come out of it looking a lot more dignified than she has....
It was either going to go one of two ways........
1) she would end up doing all the trials and turn the public perception round and win it...
2) she would end up doing all the trails and at the first chance the public would vote her off......
for her and her "advisers" not to realise she is such a polarising figure would have been something short of madness.. why do you think ITV paid her such a huge amount to go in in the first place......
if this is a gamble that she took to turn around her career..... then I don't think it has worked in the slightest..... mind you, we are talking about it in a thread, so I suppose it keeps her in the public eye.....
This is why I hate look at me/whinge posts.... I don't think it does people any favours... especially when you look at the posting history of the OP.....rolleyes
I keep thinking... well what are you trying to achieve.... as if some single woman is going to say "well i'll show him, and drop my knickers!!!".....
it does smack of desperation... and desperation isn't the most sexy of traits......
glad to hear it went well... hope to get down to the next one (as long as it isn't valentines weekend... you know the world and there aunt is going to organise something for that one.... lol )

How does one know one has had swine flu.
Do they send you for tests? Does anybody on here know for certain that they were infected by this particular strain of virus?

at the beginning, when it was in the "contain" phase.. they did test everyone..... now they are past that they assume that you have it based on the symptoms you describe..... (also bearing in mind that swine flu is particually attacking the groups of people not normally hit by the normal strains)

I am never forgiving the makers of the remake of "the ring" (the japanese original was fantastic....)
if we are talking classic hollywood... the people who remade "the longest yard" and "oceans 11" are on my bad list for life!!!!

Sadly I do not know anything of this case at all. I didn't even know they had caught the planners of the twin towers
Dave_Notts

Basically Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) is the one who it is alledged was the mastermind behind 9/11, It was his idea and then he went to Bin Laden who okay'd it and backed it financially...
it is being alledged that KSM did all of the recruiting of the hi-jacker's, the planning, the run thru's
and there is strong evidence to support all of that, and he doesn't deny any of that.... It is the illegal "rendition" of KSM, the torture of which waterboarding is one (he was waterboarded 15 times) the supposed confessions under duress and treatment in the hands of the americans which is what is coming into focus....
that is why there is a big debate on whether the US will present anything post rendition as evidence for fear it will be immediately thrown out which would be a huge embarrassment for the US government.....
dave... if you or anyone get the chance and you have an mp3 player... get the countdown, or rachel maddow podcasts.... or from sky news the "foreign matters" podcasts...which are brilliant insights into the political scene
Quote by kentswingers777
Thankfully unlike in the UK, the Human rights rubbish will not enter into this.

hate to burst that bubble... but yes it will....
having looked at a lot of the american news networks coverage.... up till the point right before "rendition"... most agree very strong case...
from the "rendition" onward.... erm.. not so much...
because he was detained almost certainly illegally, then came the "waterboarding" which is still illegal and the supposed confessions under duress...
the debate is whether the US lawyers will present any stuff post "rendition" for fear that it will be immediately thrown out as evidence....
the other question once the guilty verdict comes along will be do you really want to make a martyr of KSM when he wants to be executed anyway?
just to let you all know.. I got it.. loving it so far, if anyone can say me a weekend worth of typing and tell me how to copy my contacts over to my new phone (apparently the old save it from old sim - to old phone - to new sim doesn't work....)I will love you forever!!!
I don't drink either..... if it is a soothing drink you I am drinking, then I am partial to a hot chocolate... yummy.....

IM sure the 'going behind my back' was just a figure of speech.. to what looked like a witch hunt... The origional title of 'charging at socials' was not a general question, it was aimed at ONE specific event..
And as such shud have been a question directed straight to the organiser and not a 'Look everyone... See what the organisers doing at THAT social.
Minxie

maybe it was brought up because this is (as far as I am aware) the FIRST time in the history of SH that someone has tried to use this type of pricing structure for this type of event.... and I have been attending SH socials/munches for the best part of 5 years......
so it is the principle of the thing that is being discussed and maybe in the new rules for calling an event a "social" this SHOULD be put in.......
I don't really care if it was 2 or 20 single fems on the list... because then next person who organises a social will look round and say "well that derby social did it, why shouldn't I????"
in edit: no has said the price to go to the event is "disgusting".... but would it have not been sensible to say, I have "X" amount of people going.... I have spent "Y" on everything.... so I am going to charge "Z" per Head to cover...
if you need 4 pound per head to cover... then charge 4 pounds per head.... what people are saying is in a pub atmosphere where the costs are the same, why are you using one set of people to subsidise everyone else....
Quote by Bear69
if people have to outlay money to arange socials then they have to cover their one expects something for nothing!! or shouldent, anyone who aranges a social and puts in all that time and effort gets a big pat on the back from me.

and no one is saying that organiser's should be left out of pocket at all....
what people are querying is why there are there seems to be a different pricing for everyone when if it is a social that isn't a club venue.... hence the charging per head that has gone on at every social/munch before this one......
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford, Bristol, Winchester, London, Essex, Plymouth, Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Wakefield, Middlesboro,
all places where I have been to munches and socials and a few of those on multiple locations....
I have organised munches, the decision I took was to make it free to everyone, and all the money going to charity....
all those events..all over the country... 5 yrs of going to SH socials.... all have either been free and everyone has contributed....... or charged per head, where everyone has always pay the same.....
don't let derby be the first to break this.....

and are single women swingers?

only when they become part of what someone else wants..... after all... apparently its all about the couples..right!!
I've had enough today.... rolleyes
If I want to label myself as a "swinger"... then I will...
If I don't want to label myself as a "swinger"... then I won't...
I get to decide what I label myself as... no one else
heck... I can label myself as a "professional stunt idiot" if I want....but again that is MY decision.... no one elses.....
This question always annoys me when it comes up.....
Who has the right to "label" anyone as anything... for a community that is supposed to be open-minded, there are a lot people who don't display it....
I'll come back later when i have calmed down a little....
If this is what is happening... than that IMO is wrong, and highly unfair
if it is in a social setting.. then this is the first time I have heard of any SH social doing this, and it is a sad day...
the only charges are suppose to cover costs, so to say that people are going free because they are "single fems" then that screams "money making venture" to me.. as why would you not charge "per head" otherwise
Okay... I admit it... I have sold out to the great god that is "the iPhone"...I have turned to the dark side...Thought I would never end up being a mobile phone snob!
anyway....mine is coming on thursday... is there anyone that could advise me of any good (and preferably free) apps that you could point me in the direction of.....
thanking you in advance
"mobile phone snob" of tyneside
p.s kinda looking forward to it...but if you say it out loud to anyone.... I will so deny it and send the kneebreakers round...

100% agree.
A perfect example of how the press manipulate the situation. He doesn't write a letter and he is damned as uncaring and nasty, he does, and he is insensitive and rude. He tries to call the woman to resolve the situation, and all she is interested in is recording the call to use to sell to the Scum, rather than listening to his explanation.
She is not interested in any platitudes or sympathy, all she (and Murdoch's cronies) wants is the pound of flesh.
(In Edit : Neil got their just before me and far more eruditely! Sorry for the repetition!)

don't worry res.... I was going to say to the same thing...
I know the woman is grieving, shes lost her son! And I realise that she is in pain, but he was never going to do any right in her eyes...
so for someone to A) record the private conversation to begin with to which he tried to apologise and rectify the situation and B) to then make the cold hearted decision to sell it on to a national newspaper smacks of being really vendictive
if he had just release a statement he would have been damned for being impersonal... he was never going to win....
oh... and GnV.... do you have the same disrespect for John Major.... I only ask because he and his last conservative administration were under the same calls to call an election, and then held out to the last possible date to have one.....
or does your faux-rage only point one way?
)
I put up this thread originally in mirth, but I'll have my 2 penneth now....
its interesting to see how everyone is seeing this...
2 weeks ago... miss frank vs daryl in the final vote... Cheryl was the one copped out and let it go to the public vote... no one complained then....
last week.... rachel vs lloyd in the final vote... simon actually said rachel was the better singer and still copped out, yet let it go to the final vote... no one complained then...
this week.... same as last week... an everyone is up in arms....
I am not saying I like jedward... but the fact still remains that Lucie got the least votes........
if the vote had gone the other way would we be having this discussion....
in the end, maybe the moral of the story is the vote vote and vote...... no act is safe....
if daryl had gone... people would have been up in arms...
if lloyd had gone... people would have been up in arms...
what we have seen over the last 3 weeks is consistancy.. in that fact that the judge who had the deciding vote have chickened out of "dropping the hammer"
just out of interest.. did any of you actually vote for lucie.. or did you just assume that she would be safe....
Okay... Admit it... you all voted for them...
in which case... thank you!!!!
Me and my betting syndicate.... 50 quid at 150-1.. jobs a goodun.... lol

Hi all.
I just need a bit of advice. It may be that I'm just butt ugly but I have been on this site for a few weeks now. I have posted adverts and included a photo but I just dont seem to be getting anywhere.
I'm new to this and may be just doing something wrong so a few pointers would be great! I cant exactly go into my local and say "well I joined this swinging site and...."
I am genuine and I can accomodate... It mya be that I'm in an area thtas just not into it.... (I need to move).
Like I said any advice would be appreciated.
5t3v3

The site does work, the site gives you all the tools to make it work, the key is to make it work for you...
people get sick of what i am about to say but in swinging it is so true.... "you do get out, what you put in"....
your ads is in "men seeking women" and "men seeking couples".... there are shed loads more men than women and couples here so they can be as choosey as they want.....
look at your own ad, have a look at some of the others... if yours doesn't stand out, then make it stand out....
SH hasn't started charging by the word just yet, so start using them.......if your ad is only 3 lines long then how do you expect it to stand out from all the other thousands of adverts..... tell people why you are different from the others? give people a reason to say "yes, I have to meet that person"
for example.. in your profile it says nothing about the people that you are after rather than the basics......so what type of couple/single fem are you after... older/younger? tall/short? thin/fat? those are just examples.... you haven't said at all....
use the ads to your advantage.......
have you been into the chatrooms..... for example you are in the midlands.... there is normally a midlands chatroom on server 3... and think of it like a pub, where it takes time to get known....
Go to socials... there is always stuff going on... go to clubs... there are a few up there now..
Bascially what I am say is that it is going to take more than a couple of weeks..... if you are expecting "quick shag" then you are very likely to be disappointed
don't be impatient, don't expect peoples knickers to fall at the drop of a hat,
It does work.... for those people who put the effort in, but you have to be proactive about it!!!
hope that makes you think a bit....
wow.... i was stunned to hear what happened....
pass on my love and thoughts to everyone at this sad time.....
We have all done some stupid things whilst at uni.... so kenty to think that yours are somehow full of sweetness and light is probably stretching the mark, If you really think that they spent 4 yrs with there nose in books, then I hate to be the bearer of bad news!
The difference between this and any other university hi-jinxs all across the country just happens to be the presence of that camera. God I got up to allsorts, and all the worst ones were alcohol related.....
whatever happened to the punishment fitting the crime...should this really effect the rest of his life by being kicked out of uni.... not when he could go on to be a productive member of society...
My grandad would have just called him a silly arse.... and got on with it....
