The other half loves cheese to distraction, good dishes to do Sassy!
I have a cookery query actually... never been able to poach an egg!! I've had all sorts of suggestions but they still give up the will to live and expand into foam and mush....a poacher pan is too easy...

Make sure the eggs are as fresh as possible
Add a splash of vinegar to the water
Water should be simmering - don't let it boil
Stir the water to get a whirlpool effect just before you put the egg in
as above but if still having trouble use a large pan & put the whole eggs into the water for a few seconds it just starts to set the outside before you crack them into water
& the important bit loads of freshly ground black pepper biggrin
ok nobody seems to have put any sweet stuff on here yet so here goes smile
chocolate roulade....
you need...
6 eggs
6oz caster sugar
about 6 to 8oz good rich dark chocolate (not sure of exact amount it depends on quality & how rich is required :) )
double cream
orange segments or tin of black cherries
optional.. a splash of cuantraeu (is that how you spell it?) with orange or rum with black cherries
take six eggs & seperate them (easiest way crack into hand & let white run through fingers) make sure no yolk gets into whites as they have to be whipped & they wont go stiff if any gets in them!
start whipping the whites till they form stiff peaks
next in another bowl whip the yolks & caster sugar till it turns almost white & is also stiff
place chocolate in microwave & melt or place in bowl over pan of boiling water if you dont have microwave!!!
fold the chocolate into yolk mix then fold in the whites
place on parchment paper on shallow baking tray in hot oven about 400 degrees for about 10 mins check by sticking a skewer in it if it comes out clean its done biggrin dont open oven while its cooking or it may not rise!
while cooling on wire rack whisk the cream untill stiff
assembly...
place sponge on clean tea towl splash with cauntreau if required spread cream over it then place orange segments on the cream or use the rum & black cherries
take hold of tea towl & roll up into a swiss roll type shape
trim ends (chefs perks) & let it melt in your mouth

hiya getiton03a i for one would be very interested in attending a local social meeting & romsey isnt very far away smile but am only a single im afraid confused i hope that isnt a problem?
no problem with a bit of c&w there are only a few styles of music im not keen on (rap & trance spring to mind) so i could bring a few discs with me :)
heres hoping you get a good response

bringing a few discs with you would be a great help maybe you could be DJ for the night lol.
im not too sure about my dj-ing skills but then ive never tried before lol a few discs wont be a problem though :)
hope to see you all soon :)
not sure my first "cage" counts as it only had three wheels! yep sorry to admit it but i did buy a robin reliant & to make it worse it was a van redface my excuse is i needed a van for work & only had a bike licience & seeing as the plastic pig was classed as a trike i could drive it without passing another test smile
my first real car was an old beat up ford escort mexico cool now that car was class :) only trouble is if you took hands off steering wheel it would quite happily go round a roundabout without crashing
ahhh the good old days biggrin :D
i have to say i do usually go for the shorter woman (4'11" the shortest so far) its not because i feel threatened or anything like that, its just im not the tallest guy on the block so when walking with someone shorter than me it makes me feel like i really am tall lol
now where did i leave my platforms??????
hiya getiton03a i for one would be very interested in attending a local social meeting & romsey isnt very far away smile but am only a single im afraid confused i hope that isnt a problem?

& no more or the word fat (such a negative word) i know im not alone in saying someone who is happy with who they are is soooooo much more sexy than someone obsessed with their body smile be bad & be happy :) :)
sorry if that dont make sence ive just got home from an 11hr night shift confused
oh god i dont know which button to press confused
i was born normal-ish i came out feet first lol
my younger years were influanced by my old man who was a teddy boy smile
as i developed into a teenager i moved more into the biker stages of evolution & the grunge style biggrin
it then advanced towards the goth (cost me a fortune on hair dye as my hair was 3/4 of the way down my back)
then moved to a hippy commune in southern spain so natural :)
& now im just me cool
please help mr confused
hiya 4playinc as far as i see it everyone is happy with the way things are apart from you because you would like to have both of the ladies in your life together & your wife isnt keen on that idea, but from what you said she may be willing to play with someone else who isnt so close to you both?
i dont see the problem dunno if it isnt broken why mend it??
just enjoy you threesome social life & making love to the two women you love seperatly & if they decide to play with others all the better smile as long as everybody is happy with the situation be happy & enjoy life biggrin :D
home from the grind at last smile
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I've never been able to understand why Antiques and collectors items fall into the 5% bracket.
ffs If you can afford to buy a Faberge Egg you can afford to pay the standard rate of VAT.
Taxes that annoy me most are road & petrol. Ours are the highest in Europe yet we still manage to have the most expensive and unreliable public transport system.
Only in England is it cheaper to fly to New York that it is to catch a train to London in rush hour rolleyes

not all antiques & collectors items are in the reduced vat bracket, most still incur the 17.5% unless they are for charity or are over 100yrs old & are being exported/imported & there are still more exceptions to this!
so most antiques do still carry the 17.5% i wish they didnt it would save me a fortune!
whats getting my goat at the moment is the talk of us having to pay for rubbish collection soon when we are paying an extortional amount already for council tax thats meantto cover it mad
cheers for the offer pete i wasnt sure about asking for invite as im a single confused
can i let you know for sure in the morning as i have to check my rosta at work im sure im off that weekend though biggrin
i shall have to dig my speedo's out then lol

hope you have a great time :) :)
just had a look it seems im a tuesday's child as well lol
i just dont see it me full of grace lol
think its a mistake i should be a saturdays child or so it seems confused
i know we have never met lambchop but my thoughts are with you
most of us feel along those lines from time to time for one reason or another, whats the point? nobody will miss me? why do i bother?
well as you can see from this thread people do care about you & would miss you as would many others, some very good advice has been given here so please get down to your doc & have a chat
as darkfire said if you are drinking pour it away it will make everything a lot worse (i know from a personal battle im having!) it stops you from sleeping & thinking rationally!
i know im at the other end of the country but if there is anything i can do just let me know!
after just getting home from a abd night shift this thread has just reminded me of why i do my job!
so i can raise enough money to move back to my paridise,i lived in a tee-pee on the side of a mountain in southern spain for the best part of three years, smile
it was sheer heaven i didnt touch a single coin for a whole year of that time growing most of my food & bartering for the rest, only wearing clothes if i needed to go to town (which wasnt very often) & lots of very good friends that looked after each other & would do anything for you :)
yep it was/is heaven there & i will be back there one day biggrin
here are a few of mine smile
as i had to use public transport for 24hrs last week (& what a nightmare that was!) the first on my list would be my car biggrin
second is sort of related is my air con in the car :D on a scorching hot day its like sitting in a fridge :D :D
which brings me to my third item a freezer it just makes life soooo much easier to be able to do a large shop at a well known freezer store & have enough food in the flat to last two weeks without having to do another supermarket trip :D
i could prob go on for ages on this subject but will leave it there for now :D :D
hiya dawn as for your question "how would you feel giving up alcohol ?" & "could you?"
the easy answer for me is no i couldnt confused i was advised by my doc to stop before its to late for my liver, i have been trying & have managed to cut down a bit but would still rather flush medication if it says dont take with alcohol rather than stop redface but thats just me :?
but saying that i am not the most strong willed kind of a person & im sure that you will find it a lot easier than i did smile like you said though its the not being alowed to have something that makes you want it even more,it makes it feel like you are missing out on something where as the only thing you are missing out on is the hangovers, worse health & a much lighter wallet/purse :? so giving up offers so many more pro's than con's :) :)
wishing you all the very best in cutting it out & hope you are feeling better soon take care & if you need someone to get rid of all your surplus alcohol my phone number is 07********* cool
