I think it is probably a combination of the two!! I love the advertising campaign for Hobgoblin! It is ironic though that many of the more popular real ales now have more in common in their appearance with Lagers than the likes of Hobgoblin which has recently weakened in strength....

Maybe we should have separate entries from Northern Ireland,England,Wales and Scotland and throw Isle of Man,Jersey,Guernsey and Gibraltar into the mix and we might get off the bottom in future smile

Ha ha, I was in Finland last week and the cheapest option in one bar I was in was Heineken!! Even considering the extortionate prices in Helsinki though, I was not tempted by it and opted for a nice Finnish micro brew! smile

So who else likes Real Ale on here or am I in the minority? I know that there is somewhat of a sterotype about your average ale drinker but from going to beer festivals recently, it seems that the beard and sandals brigade are not so abundant and younger people and more women are getting into it.
Your thoughts? smile

once in the grounds of an old castle in sweden, me and my gf were at it when a woman walking her dog discovered us!! rather embarrassing!! it was late at night so we were as surprised to see her as she was to see us!!!

. My french is very rusty these days, although if I attended a conversation class it would probably come back. I can vaguely remember some of the basics, so if I improved on that it would just be a case of developing my vocabulary. biggrin

Does anyone know how to get the "accent" symbols for certain languages so I can write things properly? I haven't got the symbols in my word file either which is rather annoying.
