I have been a great fan of Eva Cassidy since her music was discovered.
Her story is a sad one, but to me one of the best raw talents found this century.
Have a listen!

I have a dislike for a lot of female vocalist but I find I can listen to her what ever mood and love her work.
What are you thoughts?
Do you have a favourite artist you can listen to whatever the mood?
I don't have a single artist I listen to whatever my mood. I think I have a group of artists and albums that I return to regularly. I pick the one that suits my mood or if I'm down one that will pick me up.
If I had to pick one artist I listen to the most it would have to be the mighty MADNESS. A blast from my past.
I tend to think of them as being contempary folk music. They wrote and performed songs about who they were and where they came from.
Some of the songs cleverly tackle difficult subjects all to a bouncy ska beat.
I tend to agree mostly with Keeno here. However I would also have to admit I have a major preference for Marc Bolan, Tyrannosaurus Rex and very early period, and the Cocteau Twins.
It's very simple for me. The Hamsters and Pink Floyd frequently take turns for the number one slot.
The rest of the time it's just shuffle play on an MP3 collection of 60,000+
Females? Janis Joplin, worship Eva cassidy, :smitten: and Pink hump
All good at what they do and all very different imo
Groups? gotta be Abba blast
:karaoke: "It was like shooting a sitting duck
A little small talk, a smile and baby I was stuck
I still don't know what you've done with me
A grown-up woman should never fall so easily
I feel a kind of fear
When I don't have you near
Unsatisfied, I skip my pride
I beg you dear..." :karaoke:
Males? Oh gosh :scared:
John Lennon
Oops was only supposed to pick one! redface well i dont know it depends on my mood, listen to abba the most i think loon
Alive or dead?
Solo or band?
It's a tricky one because most people love lots of different types of music and within each genre there's going to be a stand out artist, so it's like asking people to say what's their favourite sort of music. And is it about the music they produce, or something more then that? For example you might like the Levellers because they behave in a manner true to their musical ethos (or so they claim).
We have a playlist that we run every Saturday night, while we have our 'one' for the road
The person that seems to feature the most and gets the best singsong reaction at the moment is Johnny Cash ........ in fact I'm sure there's a law somewhere that you have to sing Ring of Fire if your evening involves a curry somewhere along the line cool
The Wurzels get rather a lot of playing here too, and Mika ........ oh blimey, loads of musical songs like Oom pah pah and that one that goes 'I close my eyes, drew back the curtains (ahh ah ahhhh), to see for certain' ....... any dream will do, that's the song!!
Hmmmmm bit of a mish mash - Johnny cash pips the post at the moment I would say biggrin
