Warming the Bed
Quick techie help,please!
I know it's simple as it happenned before, but this idiot can't remember the solution and can't find the answer in the help index.
My Start button and the rest of the taskbar moved from the bottom of my screen to the right hand side and the, whilst trying to solve the problem, it has moved to the top of the screen.
I hate to be dominated-at least by a perishing machine- so can somebody please put me out my misery and give me back control.
And just to add to it, I wanted to put an embarrassed emoticon here, but I can only get the emoticon text to show!

There has been quite a bit of adverse comment on Partners in the Lets Meet Up section.
Happilly we can report that we visited on at night and everything seemed fine. there was a good and varied mix of folk with a wide spread of age appearance (and sex--reasonable balance of single males>)
The atmosphere was friendly and well mannerred with pleasant staff.
Mrs V was approached with an offer of a quick sketch session. This was definately a first, and different to the usual offer. The 'artist' had no trouble in getting her to display her assets, using the line that he wanted to capture the essence of her mature self asurance.
(personally I think he has captured the look of a demented ferret--but than again everything is in the eye and mind of the beholder)
Anyway, we will certainly continue visiting

Don't get involved with the accident ambulance chaser firm Phone around some solicitors and find one who specialises in motor accident/ personal injuries (if you really can't find out, your local Citizens Advice bureau will tell you) and who will give you a free initial interview to check the likelyhood of having a successful claim.
Hope your sufferring is alleviated by any compensation obtained.

Coughing, snuffling and with a sore throat makes me an unattractive proposition and I feel so rotten we are staying in tonight.
Mrs v keeps offerring me millet seed and a cuttlefish bone but no sympathy. Says she is bound to catch it next. Cant keep anything to myself.
Any reccomendations? More Jack daniels or swap to a single malt?

On Channel 5 tonight there is a programme called Real Wife Swap about a retired coouple who enjoy swinging and have visited an Amsterdam couples club. Unfortunately they find that they are older than most participants and settle for wining and dining; the buffet is the liveliest part of the night for them.
This prompts me to ask "when do others think it is time to hang up the boots?"
Personally, I fancy going on till the mind gives in. Mrs V just wants new boots.

Having spent a couple of months looking at the site, we have concluded that it seems to be populated with a generally good bunch who would have no trouble gaining admission to any half decent asylum.
So it's time to say hello and introduce ourselves.
We are a (decidely) mature couple who have recently moved from the midlands and are looking for new venues etc. We are pretty experienced in the scene but newish to the internet.
So far we have found Partners club and it seems a friendly place. Any other tips would be welcomed.

As newbies and lurkers, it all seems OK to us, but our difficulties relate to our poor internet abilities; we are learning both netiquette and technical at a steady rate.
We have found that there seem to be an excessive number of threads and to our minds this is a disadvantage, but possibly others have a different view.

As a newbie, at least to the site, it's nice to see another virgin poster jumping in.
We were thinking serously about putting up our joint first post, when we came across Sgt Bilko's declaration of war.
Wow! Heads ducked quickly behind the parapet and a rethink occurred.
Spend a bit more time getting to know the site and look at the responses to other newbies tentative first steps. looked like wiser move. Observation shows that flatterring the moderators seems to be worthwhile. But neither of us has an OBN.
Hopefully though, this will start the ball rolling.
PS I think Bilko has got a good point, really.
