One of my best friends threw a sicky to go and see a cup game.
I can't remember what the reason was, but it all came on top because we both stood behind the goal and the game was shown on TV!
And it goes without saying that his manager watched the highlights of the game that night.

How on earth can anyone who is stating their own opinion and I quote "The whole point is that I believe George is guilty" be making libellous comments?

Because the law says they are.
If I stated in public (and yes, this forum is a public arena) that in my opinion Shrek2 is a and fiddles with kids you would be quite within your rights (and the law) to sue me for defamation of your character.
My defence would be either that I had never said it in the first place (difficult, as all posts are kept on a server somewhere) or that in fact you were a .
Where on earth do people get this idea that saying 'this is only my opinion' will absolve them and this website from a writ of libel?

I suggest you have a peep at my signature! It clearly states these are my opinions. That's all it is..an opinion.

Why is it that those who bang on and on about law and order seem to know less about law and the judicial system than anyone else?
Go read the libel laws and in particular the liability of Internet Service Providers.

The whole point is that I believe George is guilty

You keep saying that but can't come up with one shred of evidence for it.
Do you know that you could be potentially putting yourself and more importantly, this site at risk by repeatedly libelling Barry George? If he decided to sue you and SH for damages you would have to prove in court that he was guilty of Jill Dando's murder.
You wouldn't look so clever then!

(And answer the question. What have you got against clever lawyers?)

Fast forward 8 years, clever lawyers

What is your obsession with clever lawyers?
Do you think lawyers should be dumb? confused:

I wonder how all the liberals out there would feel if it was their child killed in the most horrific way, or your son or Daughter?

If my child was killed in the most horrific way I would not want just ANYONE jailed to make me feel better.
I would want the person who actually did it to be caught and imprisoned.

Perhaps you should try not to be so ambiguous in future?

Fair point. I thought what I was asking was clear but I accept that some people didn't.
I'm still waiting for an answer from Pete_sw though.

All joking aside here but... how much has all this cost the taxpayer?
Two trials.... now acquited and compensation to boot. Must be millions of pounds of OUR money already spent, and now back to square one. dunno

Do you think there should be a price put on justice?

The person who comes knocking my door said he had and would sign the documents so a member of his family could have a blood transfusion.

Regardless of whether or not some JW's do decide to go against their religion and allow whole blood transfusions, why on earth would you want to let people into your house who believe in monogamy and think that you, as a fornicator, will burn in hell? confused:

Quote by kentswingers777
Whys that then?

Because in the post of yours that I quoted, you basically said "Fuck the evidence. I know he's guilty. No-one's going to change my mind"
And as regards the OJ Simpson trial, that's another case you seem to know nothing about. Yes he had the best lawyers and plenty of money but he was actually acquitted because a racist LAPD detective had tampered with vital evidence. If it hadn't been for that he would almost certainly have been convicted.

As for George in my mind how can they find him guilty at one trial with everything at their disposal, an experienced trial judge and more lawyers than you can shake a stick at? and then 8 years on with the same band of wallys find him not guilty?
I read and listened to that trial years ago and in my mind he is as guilty today as he was 8 years ago.

And so did the judge and jury years ago. The case was retried because key evidence at the first trial was shown to be inadmissible.
Let's hope you never get to sit on a jury!

I think if you have sex with someone else in a swinging situation it should be between you and the person you were with. However if I had a really bad experience and the person I met turned out to be a possible danger to someone else then I would probably have to say something if I knew one of my friends was meeting them.

That is pretty much my view. If the person or people you are meeting don't want the meet discussed in public then you have no choice really but to respect that. If someone is needed as a 'reference' then most people are happy to do that without going into too much detail.
If however someone does turn out to be a danger, or just shitty and disrespectful then I think it is totally appropriate to warn people either on here or in PMs.
But be very careful! Be sure you have your facts right before condemning anyone in public or even private.
L x
No distance is too far, for the right person/people. Closer is more difficult if it doesn't work out.
But then you never really know before hand, do you?
I have heard a few years ago about someone who arranged a meet with his sister  (by accident of course!)

as you have taken the time to reply to theres

This comes up pretty regularly about once a year.
If you are talking about fem/couples replying to single men, the simple answer is "there is usually no time!"
Replies to fem/couples ads outnumber replies to men's ads by sometimes as much as 500 to 1!!!
Most people don't have the time to do that and would rather spend the time replying to replys that DO interest them. I have been with quite a number of women on here when they have opened their mailbox and sometimes the amount of mail is quite staggering!
Simple rule is that unless the ad/profile states 'We will answer all replies, even if to say just no', then assume that if you don't get a reply then you are not suitable.
It's nothing to stress about. biggrin

And Misskitty, you have a real good voice. I don't know who sang It's Raining Men and Waterloo at the end of the night but a fire in a pet shop would be easier on the ears.
Thanks again to Sheer and Mandy and all their little helpers.

And what? I was at last year's Oxford do with a broken collarbone! Didn't put me off!
(Despite Juicy's repeated attempts to make it worse by coming up behind me and throwing her arms round my neck! The pain was excrutiating but then again, Juicy's boobs pressed into my shoulder blades mysteriously made all the pain go away! wink )
Just neck a load of painkillers and if your stitches burst, I know of at least two nurses who will be there!
