If you tape phone conversations and dont tell the caller you are .. isnt that entrapment or am i watching too much CSI Vegas here. He must be a total c*&t if his son hates him and the ex does this to you.
You get longer for perverting the course of the ass of law than or manslaughter .. the judges dont like you in front for messing with the law and getting rumbled.
Its a major crime in their eyes not minor .. minor is singing offensive songs at plod while pissing on their panda car on a night out .. you dont go to crown court for minors but have more chance of getting away with it there.
Lesbian spinsters with cats are usually magistrates and give the max sentence every time. The law is truly an ass here but the lot in the parliament apart from big Dave and his minister for NHS deserves a minimum 3 years in pokey ..
Bunch of crooks and fibbers ...
Is his ex wife on the same charge too then? Must be .. give her an extra year for being retarded i say
jailed for not taking 3 points and a 60 quid fine .. oooops

Then I have no idea why you would need to "cross the line"
It is a MAOT teams job to give advice to Military Commanders on the deployment of Helicopters, true MAOTS from 21 Signal Regiment (based in Wiltshire and not part of 7 Armd Bde) do deploy to most conflicts undertaken the by the British Army theirs is not a combat role, it is a vital role in ensuring Helicopters are deployed as efficiently and as practically as possible, but this is best done from the air bases and command centre not where the chopper is going to be in action, the Royal Signals FAC are the ones who go forward to mark targets for the bomber aircraft using laser technology. The main role of the TL (Team Leader 2 RAF and 2 Signals personnel) that comprise a MAOT team is helicopter Flight safety, safety in the LZ's and for maintaining and updating the information contained in the various HLS directories in use by all military helicopters.
Though I concede 21 Signal Regiment personnel did come under the overall command of 7th Armd Bde and 1 US Corps the MAOTs would have been at the rear with the HQ staff as I explained above and under overall control by the British 1st Armoured Division who had ultimate control of both the 4th (Desert Rats)* Armd Bde and the 7th (Desert Rats) Armd Bde.
*Christened Desert Rats during the defence of Torbruk during WWII in reference to their occupation of the foxholes therein.

I crossed the line in a chinook ach47a with my teams wagon slung below. My MAOT team secured a potential FOB and then setup landing sight lights for pilots to fly down once secured. We were sent into Iraq to setup FOBs for Chinook, Puma and Sea King helicopters for casevac. We then advanced from the West down the highway of death still smouldering, taking POWs as we went finally being part of the liberating force securing Kuwait City. My medal has a shiny little rosette on it to signify exactly that too smile
You may want to revisit your understanding of the different types of MAOT teams and all I can tell you is exactly what my one did by being there.

Went over the line ? 2 years after the Coalition went over the line for the first gulf war (17th January 1991) based on your age of 41 and what you did 20 years ago when you were 21 ?
Oh and Bombtrack was released in December 1992 long after the 1991 crossing of the line!

Guilty of having the wrong age here ... but the demo cassette was released in December 1991 ... Ill happily send you a picture of my medals if you still have doubts ...
The songs on the demo were as follows:
"Bombtrack"–4:14
"Take the Power Back"–5:52
"Bullet in the Head"–5:17
"Darkness of Greed"–3:45
"Clear the Lane"–3:54
"Township Rebellion"–4:28
"Know Your Enemy"–4:22
"Mindset's a Threat"–4:03
"Killing in the Name"–6:38
"The Narrows"–4:39
"Autologic"–4:07
"Freedom"–5:44
Not all on long term benefits are lazy scum bags but look and its easier to find those these days. I thankfully wont be affected by the bedroom tax but if you are in rented council owed accommodation.. can you really complain if the house owner decides if you have empty rooms to pay up?
Itd be interesting to find a comparable house to a council one and compare the monthly rental fees.
The ones that are lazy scumbags aren't a drain on the tax payer .. they are a drain on our country. Im currently working in real poor areas in the world and trust me .. if your online with a pc and have free money every week too .. your not even close to poor ... just needy it seems.

Think its rude at the table to use a phone ... i pop it on silent and leave to answer if it goes ... its a sure sign they dont really want to be there if on it all meal too. If they do it with you lot, do you pull them up for it. I do, and have left the restaurant if they still keep using it too.
Belated happy birthday too Mids, why do you only hate iphones though .. you secretly after one there eh ... just messing here ..
Hope you enjoyed your bday and earlier too.

Professional footballers
Should be strangled at birth.
They have no useful purpose in life.

Well whatever you may think GnV, it IS our National game. Not Rugby or Cricket or Cycling.
The most participated sport apparently is fishing, but is that actually a sport or a blood sport? dunno
The game of football is indeed ' the beautiful game ' but unfortunately now packed with over paid Nancies who fall over at will and should really apply for an Equity card.
Pretty sure to this date the only sport I've witnessed a player using blood capsules on the field of play to feign injury is in fact Ruggers! No equity card required smile

I think clip on ties are simply showing kids that there are easy get arounds. If you have to wear school uniform wouldnt it be best to set high standards and therefore teach them from the start how important they are. I wore school uniform at secondary that had to have a double windsor and button done up within school too.
I thought it lessens bullying personally, no easy targets for any if all are in the same gear. I think everyone has a few moments through school with others. Although no need for any at all, if you deal with it and stop it in its tracks, you learnt a very valuable life lesson too.
Schools have a minefield to cross these days with bullying. Not sure if your parents pulling up with you to report it would make it far worse for you or do anything at all. Its funny that those bullying are the most scared too .. its just taking that one time to give it back that makes it stop. Now FB and internet stuff has taken over and is far more worrying i think.
My daughter is in y5 now and thankfully not had to break out the guns for any bullies so far. Just the thought is horrid and any here that has experienced that have my absolute hope its resolved already.
Isnt the school regardless of uniform policy more likely to have bullying? I appreciate some people cant but I researched all the local ones before sending my girl to school. Which involved a change of postcode to do so, as parents, surely we have responsibility for our children which must include finding out if we are sending them into the school equivalent of Afghanistan.
Every kid faces challenges all through school .. some tough, some horrid. I want to guide mines through them but dont want to interfere every day and cause her more and longer to learn from them.
Surely uniform thats the same for all from the same shop is better than none and turning up with a lidl bag for books and giving them the easy option ..
I got told, hit the biggest one hard and then take a hiding perhaps. They wont come near you afterwards .. did so, took one .. and its the truth too.
Difficult subject though, hope all suffering any are dealing with too and more worried after this post than ever too

Having being blessed with skill and co ordination therefore gifted at the beautiful non psycho decent paid game that is Footie. How can you even say they were better never mind you are happy to say it before thanking god!!
Winning is everything, if it doesnt matter who wins .. its pointless surely. No one remembers second. Id never be happy or admit they were better or won either .. but hey.. although those traits bring negatives to footie games .. you need the passion to have them ..
Ive found out in this post a bit though .. its only 80 they play.. Italy is a nation i missed doh .. forwards play at the back and backs are at the front with funky ears and looks worse than nigel been after eubank did some work again.
The shorts are too tight too and some of the backs need the atkins and gym by the looks. Dont look professional with a belly hanging out above your shorts surely..
Back to work for now.. is England going to win this one then... what do they get if they do? Or are they all freindlies like the old home internationals in footie?
So many questions still, but hey ... ill answer any footie ones if you enlighten my ruggers lack of ..
Cheers guys .. passed an hour here with my nonsense .. have a great week you lot and enjoy the next lot of games too

Regardless of if we legalise illegal drugs or not .. they are easier to buy 24/7 than milk most Cities. Most drug users become criminals through their actions and habits as opposed to failed policy and the system. I wonder if we break even money wise from the tax on cigs and the cost of health care due to them? Those and booze are perhaps worse in effect than the illegal ones too.
If we legalise drugs.. itd be worse than already .. and its pretty bad at times eh
Wonder if they were illegal if itd make less try them too. Was way more fun before 18 getting served in a pub .. once you could legally .. just the normal.
cant see the link between morals and the law either. Some or our laws are morally corrupt never mind have any.
Legal or not from cigs and booze to hard core heroin addicts needing a fix .. always ends badly usually with violence too. If we legalise herion how does it effect users ability to pay then? Probably more expensive so need to rob more for it.
Some just cant be leglaised, id not change it from how it is now .. just change the law to make it easier for the plod to put them away long enough they are off them and let out knowing if they get lifted again for it .. double the first sentence.
By legalising them arent we saying .. hey its fine to be out your box and lose everything before the jail. Ive lost close mates to mistress Columbia and not one of them i would want legally in that state out and about.
Cant think of one plus for the non junkie population if they could get them out a vending machine at work for a fix.
Dont know the solution either .. its their choice to start though.. if they have no moral code or sense not to. Should we for them?
Not my best area politics at all .. but even so .. after Labour had 12 years of incompetence and almost bankrupted the country. After only 4 years would you vote them back in with the same guy looking after the money and The guy out of Wallace and Gromit leading us?
Just noticed Stars .. I agree totally for once .. Barca are the best by far in the beautiful game. Has any party other than Labour or Cons been in charge yet?
Not up on this tax at all .. is it everyone on 10p until £12k .. happy with that here if it is. Not likely though i know... Earlier today heard at work from a top geezer at a non bankrupt performing hedge fund at lunch something like .. that things will improve later this year .. in short.. there is a mountain of cash somewhere with no interest at all but safe from harm.. conditions say that will begin moving back into the economy's which in turn will improve things from then .. but that was before our credit rating downgrade which may fook everyone for another decade perhaps.
Isnt UKIP the one with Dodgy George Galloway in it then? Thought they had the same amount of votes as the fun ones like the greens and the Right wing mentalists.
So ... after the state the last lot left us in .. would you really vote them in again with it still a daily reminder for most living here?
Big Dave is having a go at it i think ... Should give em another term at least to find out ...

Another non believer here but fantastic question though. Id love the faith some put in their god myself but as its caused almost every global war in history and its teachings contribute to massive misery and the same amount of contradictory behaviours worldwide daily too .. from high up god staff down to the local priest etc .. if they can balance and remain with god after the recent horrid scandals they covered up .. being in here and with some from here now and then is easily balanced surely.
I believe religion worldwide and all of them are struggling to remain relevant in this modern world. Some acts carried out in religions name is still shocking even though more frequent nowadays too.
That post made me think for once and ive a new question from it ... To ask yourself that question, has your faith gone totally? If not can it be rebalanced and how?
Here could be almost classed as a faith or exotic cult and also has a few ultimate gods and takes chip and pin and lots of others for payment. All should be welcome to follow any faith or way they choose too. If god exists he made everything and everyone so why are the colourful people not allowed to marry in his house? How can you be a gay christian, like Obama joining the BNP surely.
There must be some practicing faith here to answer how they feel about this one from experience too. Not rebalanced yet and still here but working on it every Sunday lol
Its difficult to take seriously i find ... and understand after reading that there are committed gay christians too. Place all your faith in something your only ever a sin in. Makes no sense at all. Still manages to cause so much misery and suffering in its name. Funny thing is .. i'm certain in the bible there are less rules that cause sin than here. Great post again and hope some practicing off balance obviously believers post how it is from experience.
Even as an atheist im pretty sure if you had real faith in your religion. Its a question you would never have to answer.
J
I may seem a tad harsh on a couple of subject in here, but what I type is purely down to what i've experienced so far in life. Thankfully, im always happy to put my hands up and say I was perhaps off then. I still love learning and think its one of life's pleasures too. Surely in here everyone's views are based on personal experience as well? I would say i know more about football, early years getting my life education in the Army is still there and as a career geek in the City id hope most IT from desktop to server into comms and security I should know better than most too lol
The rest is a mystery but have fun finding out about the mystery bits daily. Wonder too if im the one all have diametrically opposite views from too lol .. cant be though as two in my recent harsh post agreed .. Can you form views and opinions based on anything other than pure experience of them too? Isn't that the only way to know and also feel the pain and happiness that forms actual views and opinion?
Isn't that the point of forums though, to debate a topic you feel strong enough about to post in? Fiercely patriotic and proud to have my UK passport having served the realm to now believe the Great bit before Britain no longer to be needed or true. I post in absolute belief no matter how harsh, I base my views on personal experience and even if totally diametric from most, willing to post them and try my best to answer the posts from others about them too.
Isnt the point to debate a subject here and air our experience and opinions. Even if only one has the opposite to all too. Why can anyone be offended by someones opinion if based on experience not from google or the Sun.
Knowledge is power, but experience is everything
J
Hey Stars,
I never at any point said I was perfect or a careers advisor either. I am successful as is my family and hopefully my daughter will be in the future. My gripe here is that instead of being able to pass on the maximum inheritance to her to ensure the best start in life and a debt free university education, some believe its ok I am taxed to give aid to people I have never met and have no sense of responsibility for.
Just a couple of points from your post though:
You stayed in a business sector that you knew was in decline for a decade? and presumably during that decade you were being paid in full and could have if you chose to, taken steps to ensure your future elsewhere and with a larger less likely to fold company?
See where i'm going with this again .... now the opportunity is gone and its every body else's fault including your ex boss and his new kitchen!

Actually I think that Voyeurs post is pretty representative of the positive minded can do type of person that generally gets on in life.
I think that people who are successful and financially secure tend to have a positive outlook on life and will aLways look for opportunity when everyone else see's only adversity. Ironically these people also seem to be "lucky," whilst everyone else is down on their luck.
In this country there really does need to be a seismic change of attitude away from reliance on the welfare system and a blame for all of life's ills. When things go wrong it is seldom anyone else's fault but your own - if you believe that, chances are you will be successful but if your catastrophe's in life have always been someone else's fault, chances are your bad luck will continue through the rest of your life.

Thanks TooHot,
I dont lack compassion just believe that its not fair to punish success and give long term benefits if able to work is all. If you choose a career working in HMV shop floor etc and never choose to advance above .. isnt that just blind and silly. Everyone has the choice and can at any time do so. Wouldnt it be a quicker end to the recession etc if everyone started grafting and having a go at it instead of whinging and finding more and more excused why they are struggling and on benefits!
No one is owed anything or given anything good for free. Take it or go for it and you just may have to start moaning about being taxed twice now your successful in time ....

Sorry Mids but we make our own life decisions and if you graft and want to climb the pay ladder you can. But not if you accept and moan about how life is unfair and not ideal.
More wealthy people didnt become so by paying silly amounts of tax on earnings. Even so we still pay over our careers a substantial amount more than the bottom level pay roles. Its not immoral its just being clever and maximising your income to maximise your lifestyle and that of your children's.
Poor people should retrain and work to become employers = fact
Poor people struggle and cant earn enough are on benefits because they choose to be = fact
Rich people employ poor people and if they work hard and are good they are paid more = fact
How do the rich live off the poor too? We need everyone to stop making excuses, get out to retrain or get to work and deserve better pay and lifestyle. I believe its more immoral to think that if you get into a bad position in life you deserve a hand out and have the audacity to whinge about how much too. Id be ashamed and would be banging on doors looking for a job too.
What is worse, working hard and enjoying a nice lifestyle and being seen as a role model or being taxed for it and encouraging further people and longer time to abuse benefits?
J

The only fact about above is you don't know anything about what you talking about.
Poor people should retrain and work to become employers = fact..no total bollocks
How when you are on minimum wage do you expect someone to re-train and become an employer !!! Poeple simply want a fair days wage for a fair days work.

Poor people struggle and cant earn enough are on benefits because they choose to be = fact...no total bollocks
People struggle because the wage they are given is such a pittance or they struggle because after 40 years of hard graft the company decides they can make more money moving factory to Romania or China and they they can pay the workers a quarter of the hourly wage, making themselves bigger profits and oh yes...bigger dividends for shareholders !!!
I myself was head hunted by one company, and so left the job I was doing to work for them. They are a major international company. After 6 monthes with everything on target, they decided they were going to move the operation out of the UK. Those they had taken away from other jobs ..(like me) were given one weeks pay, and told we were redundant !! Now tell me where my choice to be unemployed came from there.

Rich people employ poor people and if they work hard and are good they are paid more = fact ...no total bollocks
What actually happens is rich people become even richer, by the workers increasing production, and therefore they can then pay themselves more bonus and more dividend to shareholders.

Get real...and have a look out the window. Jobs are now growing on the trees round here !! Tax is not designed to be fair. You could say why should the couple with no kids pay the same tax as those with, as they will not be useing the education system as much as the other. Tax is there to help pay for a great deal more than just benifiets. There will always be those that try and abuse the tax system...and we should hunt them down . However let us remember a damn sight more in value is fiddled or avoided at the top level, than is falsely claimed at the lower level. No one likes paying tax, but it is time certain levels of people wake up, we do so for the greater good of all.
Its my opinion and having worked and studied and have to still to keep relevant its also my experience i do know what im on about, Sorry Dean but after reading why you think I dont know anything im talking about there .. just seems to me more excuses from someone not doing anything other than accepting how difficult and unfair life is and whinging about it being unfair. You mean jobs that pay more than peoples benefits are hard to find .. Somehow the polish hard and good grafters ive bumped into have got a job and maybe if our less qualified mob didn't get freebies for as long as they want them, they would also get up before 10am and get to bloody work like the rest of us do.
In the end people with money will always have the intelligence to maximise it by having the ambition, drive and knowledge to be a success so id expect them to use any legal loopholes to do so. Ones without will always moan about how unfair and difficult life is and itd be acceptable if anyone with money gave more to ensure they can keep the sky on the go.
Sorry Mids but we make our own life decisions and if you graft and want to climb the pay ladder you can. But not if you accept and moan about how life is unfair and not ideal.

So someone works hard gets success and enjoys his hard work then labour want to tax them for it !! worlds gone mad, it seems like more punishment for success to me. Should be applauding and congratulating them not taxing to give the poor.

What a bit like get made redundant through no fault of your own, and get a feeble amount of money that is supposed to help you through the hard times? Or then find that you have two spare bedrooms as your kids have grown up and left home after living in that house all of their lives, only then to find out that now you are unfortunately asking for a bit of help, they then say sorry you have to pay us £28 a week out of that paltry amount to pay for your spare rooms? Which now will not leave me enough to pay my essential bills and eat properly. If you cannot afford to pay it then tough, fuck off out of that house you have lived in and helped to build a home for your family through years of hard work, and find a one bedroom flat for the two of you to live in. Fair Voyeur? Don't talk to me about fairness.
Seems like being made redundant through no fault of your own, or falling ill and having to stop work is now a punishment on the poor. Yes it seems unfair to me as well !
Sorry to read about your misfortune stars but doesn't everyones standard tax cover benefits already. So to all intents and purposes successful people are to be double taxed. Just as well it's all just posture and bluster from Labour to score some points as if it would have worked the incompetents would already have incorporated in their 12 years that they almost bankrupted Britain.
Thats just life though for everyone and happens to the rich too stars, if you cant afford to pay you either have to reduce your living costs and move to a house you can afford which would reduce your living costs at the same time, and whats the issue with doing so. Personally I pay a handsome amount monthly to ensure that if I ever did fall ill or receive a terminal illness I would remain on the same annual income and enjoy however long i had left. Falling ill and stopping work is an issue for every class. The punishment is only felt by the ones that didn't plan for it.
You can obviously type and use the web, can you think of any startups that make good income using the same two things? Hope your fortune changes for the better soon there but it would change a lot faster if you stopped relying on the state and made it.
Have a great weekend there
J

Bet the 10p tax isn't for all either. Just seems unfair to me.
J
The US send them regularly into combat and they do the big jobs too .. i worked with them in apache attack copters and A10 death planes. Personally id be a bit nervous if half my sqaud was TA. They dont train nearly enough or grow with you in your team so Itd make me nervous and last thing when the shit hits is having to carry a blubbering part timer as well as stay alive. Thats why we still dont have ladies serving on the front line. Some places are just not for them at all. And its not British to have ladies there either. jeeez
There is a reason the TA are named the SAS by regulars ... and its not because they are the worlds best fighting force .. for them it means Sat and Sundays .. its quite sad the govt are reducing our forces. We still have the finest ones worldwide but less so every year.
I meant with art that it isnt the biggest sector for a career other than being a teacher. I have a close friend who is now doing ok after 15 years trying to sell her art. Not many make as much as Mr Hirst though. But hey .. if its your love and you enjoy it then you should go for it. Just so many non relevant degrees for what they apply for its no wonder they never hear back for interview.
J
I have always wondered why some graduates chose the degree they just completed. Also realise its too young to really know what you want to work as for your career. But some degrees such as history or art can only prove you have the capacity to study and complete your degree. I cant think of any career role apart from the few that would sell art for work or that would become teachers on wages not to far above the min wage. I have to study and pass exams every year to maintain my role and in my sector we take interns and not far above the minimum wage that after a year if they prove themselves get a role on decent pay. The trick id imagine is to get a degree in something you love doing in a sector that is thriving and work your ass off for peanuts for a year and get on the team. Not really sure how relevant a degree is these days either. I look at what they have done and how they present themselves with how they cope in any interviews. I have never been asked about my degree in any interview so far, just all about what ive done and it makes me think its just now a 4 year piss up smile
Minx, im in the tech industry and if you like, pop me a mail with the sons skill he just graduated in, I could run his cv past our HR team and point him in the right direction. Sometimes its that first little nudge that sorts a role out. I use one website for contracts and they are full of lots of technical roles. Also the cv counts too, we have popped some in the bin after seeing the state of presentation and some have coffee and are printed on recycled loo role.
If I can help it'd be a pleasure.
