Most people don't have a problem, so claims of chatroom crashing when nothing has crashed doesn't help us or you very much, putting a ticket in does, I'm not saying that the chatrooms never play up, when they do one of the Ops usually spots it quickly and lets us know.
I sympathise with the ops because it's very difficult to find the true cause of problems. Often people perceive a problem for the very reason you've mentioned, and because most people are not techies they can find it difficullt to articulate what is happening.
However this doesn't hide the fact that there is an inherent instability with the site that needs to be looked at and resolved. It is difficult to dismiss the fact that this is the only site that crashes on a regular basis on my computer. Taking into account the many and varied sites I visit, and the lack of any changes to my setup, either hardware or software, this can only point the finger at the site.
I'm not suggesting that anyone is to blame, it may just be a bandwidth problem for instance, but I think it is important to take the complaints seriously when so many people are experiencing the same thing. It may also be helpful to have a regular update about such issues, prominently displayed, so that members are aware of what is being done.
I think part of the disappoint is the 'feeling' that nothing is being done. A little PR may help to reassure members and possibly reduce the number of complaints.
Prior to being given the use of a 'gold star' I must admit I'd have said the same thing bbw. Now I must say that I now realise that the admin team are working very hard so improve the site, however, as with all things in life , change sometimes takes longer than you would hope for. But if you are having specific problems then you need to raise a ticket with admin, because that is the only way they may discover if other problems are happening.

It may suprise you to know that becoming a chatroom op has reduced my opportunity to 'chat to my mates' by probably 90%. Whereas before I was chatting for hours with them, I am now lucky to get a few minutes. Most of the ops are in and out of chat throughout the day. And we do have 'real' jobs as well
I know it may be an inconvenience to not find an op when you want, but we are all trying to help you all have a good time on site. I personally did not realise how much work went on ' behind the scenes' to ensure that the site runs smoothly. So, if you need an op, and cant find one, leave a pm and I am sure one of us will get back to you as soon as possible and try and sort out any problem you may have.
