I think that there are many valid points being made here. two-4-more in particular has highlighted several issues that shouldn't be ignored off-hand.
The main point that I feel is being made, it seems to me, is that if people feel their privacy, and the control of their privacy, is being compromised in any way it will negatively affect the nature of the site.
A significant number of people have already been driven underground by hiding their photos due to the whole tagging debacle. Now with the approach to the new search facility, which I think is a good idea fundamentally but possibly ill-conceived, it will do nothing but increase the sense of insecurity within members.
The upshot of this is that it will drive more members underground and/or drive people away, members who will leave the site for good. This is a non-trivial concern and the mods and admin staff should be wary of not taking it seriously enough.
I have already made my pics private, and with the increasing number of members who are following suit, it makes it much harder to use the site for it's true and proper purpose. More of these type of changes may cause many of us to consider leaving permanently.
I hope this doesn't happen.

I agree with Gary... but you will only be able to pair your ipod up if you are using a router... you won't be able to use it on its own... if you're in a wifi area you should be ok to use it on its own though.

I'm slightly puzzled. If you've got a new Macbook Pro, then that comes with a build in webcam, so you don't need an external one anyway.
The reason why the Logitech doesn't work work with it, I think, is because it doesn't support the graphics chip built into the Macbook Pro.
Getting the cam to work in the chatrooms is a different problem however. In settings, in the chatroom, you need to chose USB for the camera because all of the built in iSight cameras use an internal USB connection, NOT a Firewire connection as was the case with the external iSight camera.

It would help to know what you're using the webcam for, and what iMac you possess. For instance is it an Intel iMac or PPC? Is it a flat panel iMac or Anglepoise iMac, or original 'egg shaped' iMac.

I've not done this recently but I know there have been problems. In fact all the problems seem to be chatroom related. The chatroom seems to be falling apart and I kinda think this all started with the multi cam design. For whatever reason the chatroom stared to unravel and has continued to do so.

It's happening to all of us, and it's been going on for months now. It seems to be getting worse, don't know why.
I think the powers that be know about it but it seems to be a particularly difficult problem to solve. It's making the chatrooms virtually impossible to use, and has ruined one of the best, if no the best, feature on this or any other site.
Such a shame, because it used to work perfectly before.

Disability is another label. I have many scars, and have trouble waking long distances, I can't move around much at night because of my fibromyalgia, but do I let it stop me? no fecking way!
If someone can't deal with me the way I am, they are not worth bothering with. I have many friends who are "disabled" in different ways, but still manage to carry on with a fulfilling life, and still enjoy themselves in the bedroom!
You adapt to how the person you are with, is. Don't let anything stop you and don't let anyone's ignorance bother you... enjoy yourself!

I've tried different browsers including Navigator, IE, Firefox, Opera, Siira, and Camino, and it's made no difference. My flash is right up to date and again has made no difference despite having re-installed it.
I've reduced everything down to 1 window and don't use Messenger but again no difference.
